Te Āo Māori

At Hōhepa Hawke’s Bay we honour and uphold the bi-cultural foundation of Aotearoa New Zealand.
We acknowledge Ngāti Kahungunu as Tangata Whenua and respect their Tikanga.
We seek to work collaboratively and to exercise shared Kaitiakitanga through sustainable, regenerative biodynamic farming practices and holistic human services.
The Hōhepa story in name and philosophy shares much with a Māori world view.
We aim for everyone coming to Hōhepa Hawke’s Bay to experience the following four POU in our community:

Manaakitanga
is about having a moral purpose and believing in self and others.

Whenua
describes our connection with the land and about taking responsibility for the environment for sustained prosperity.

Whanaungatanga
expresses our desire to work as a community to make a difference.
